The washing station Lalesa located in Gedeb was purchased by Ephtah in 2023. This station is located at 2200 m.a.s.l. and is a 3.5-hectare area where 350raised beds are installed. Ephtah empowers women by a series of initiatives including education, financial knowledge, financing and strengthening the female coffee community leadership.
Coffee farmers grow mainly heirloom varieties. These coffees are cultivated at 2150 to 2200 m.a.s.l in. Besides coffee farmers grow banana and ensete.
Only the ripe cherries are picked from the trees. Once the cherries arrive at the processing station, the team carefully selects the best ones, removing any thatare unripe, overripe, or defective. This step is crucial to ensure a high-quality final product.
The coffee cherries are placed in raised beds resting for one day to develop more sugar in the cherry. After this, coffee is pulped and placed in covered beds for 14 to 18 days.
Roasted to order — dispatched within 48hrs. Best enjoyed 5–30 days post-roast.
